About Us

Bayside psychology for teens and tweens.

Becoming a young adult is a challenging process.  When trauma, anxiety or depression is thrown into the mix, it can seem overwhelming.

We can help.

Methodology

Our focus on providing effective psychology for teens and tweens results in an ongoing search for evidence based methods.

Psychology is highly personalised, and though the course of treatment the following methods may be effective:

EMDR: Eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is a powerful treatment method for trauma. Positive therapeutic outcomes can be rapidly achieved without homework or detailed description of the disturbing event.

Safe and Sound Protocol:  The use of music therapy to target the Vagus Nerve.  Can be a highly effective way to reduce stress and auditory sensitivity while enhancing social engagement and resilience.

Have a question?

What about the parents?

What happens at home is more important than what happens during therapy.  We'll carefully engage parents in the process to support the recommended strategies.

Where teens are old enough to provide consent, we'll request that before engaging parents at an appropriate time.
